Color Linking

VMS provides a means to establish links between color sources and color receivers so that, for example, a channel object (color receiver) can be linked to a scroller (color source) causing the color of the channel object to track the scroller color as it changes.

To establish a color link, first select the color source object, then choose the Edit > Copy Color menu command. Next select one or more recievers that you want to follow the source's color, then choose the Edit > Paste Color/Link menu command. Any change in the source object's color level will now be reflected in all of its linked color receiver objects.

The following objects can be color sources:

  • Scroller
  • RGB
  • CMY

The following objects can be color receivers:

  • Channel
  • Line
  • Arrow
  • Rectangle
  • Oval
  • Label
  • Yoke
  • Scanner
  • Command

To unlink a receiver from its color source, select the receiver, open the Object Inspector, and set a color or filter.
