Editing Mode

VMS operates in two modes: Offline and Live. All layout editing is done in the Offline mode.

Choose the Control > Offline command to ensure that you are in Offline mode. You may now create new objects, or move, copy, paste, duplicate, group and delete objects.

Choose the Control > Live command to switch to Live mode. In Live mode objects display current control system data.

Different editions of VMS support different numbers of live objects. The free VMS-demo edition can be used to edit any layout in Offline mode, but supports only 10 live objects in Live mode. You must purchase VMS to authorize support for more live objects.

The number of live objects in the layout design, and the number supported by your installation of VMS, can be found in the About Virtual Magic Sheet window.
