Creating Objects

Objects can be created in two ways. The simplest way is to drag an object name from the tool bar at the top of the window and drop it on the layout. You may be asked for basic information about the object, for example the ID or channel number. (You can turn this query off and on in the Preferences window.)

You can also create an object by right-clicking (Windows) or control-clicking (Mac) on an empty spot on the layout. A pop-up menu will appear from which you can choose the type of object you wish to create at that location.

Picture objects are created by pasting a picture into the layout using Edit > Paste. On a Mac you can also drag-and-drop pictures and many types of picture files onto the layout to create a Picture object.

Dragging the Rows object or selecting the New Rows command will create multiple Channel objects. You will have an opportunity to specify the first and last channel number, and the number of channels per row. To make 40 new channels in two row of 20 you might enter this:

1-40x20

To create a single row of 25 channels, starting at 101, you would enter this:

101-125

Numbering can run backwards as well a forwards. To create the same row numbered from right to left enter:

125-101

To make a column of four channels numbered from 98 at the top to 95 at the bottom enter:

98-95x1 (row of 1 is a column)
